Capt. Jose Diego de Tremino was born March, 1565 in Mexico City; he was a New Spain military officer , official of the Crown of Castile , prominent in the founding and population of Los Llanos del Topo (current General Escobedo ) in the New Kingdom of León . He held the positions of councilor and ordinary mayor of Monterrey. The son of Don Diego de Tremiño and Doña Beatriz de Quintanilla. He was baptized on March 22, 1565 in the Metropolitan Tabernacle of the Cathedral of Mexico, his godfather being Don Baltasar Venegas. Since his baptism, the spelling "Tremiño" was always used despite the subsequent deformation of it into "Treviño" becoming popular. His sisters were Doña María de Tremiño (1558), married to Captain Juan de Farías, mayor and ordinary mayor of Monterrey; Doña Juana de Tremiño (1566), married to Captain Marcos Alonso de la Garza; and Doña Isabel de Quintanilla, married to Don Pedro de Salazar. 03/10/2024

Juana Ysabel de Treviño Velasco Quintanilla was baptised November 12 1562 in the Asunción Sagrario Metropolitano Center of the Federal District of México City. Her father, Capt. José Diego Alejo de Tremino was the half-brother of her husband's father -- Don Marcos Alonso del Arcón aka 'Don Falcón' -- whose namesake, her husband, was the infamous conquistador. Juana Ysabel gave him six attested sons, two of whom were 7th great-grandfathers of Raoul Ortiz Lafón. Don Blas María de la Garza Falcón Treviño (1591-1669) was direct ancestor through Lafón's father's father, and Capt. Francisco de la Garza Falcón Treviño (1593-1660) was direct ancestor through Lafon's mother's father. Her full brother, José Diego de Tremino y Quintanilla, was 8th great-grandfather to Raoul Ortiz Lafón by yet another Garza line down to his father's father. When Juana Ysabel died in 1610 her husband married again, to Doña Catalina Martínez-Guajardo, who bore him two daughters and another son. 03/10/2024
