Every business owner has what I call $13 days. Meaning if someone walked in the door and offered you $13 for your business, you would take it.

It could be because of stress with team members. Or with client challenges. Or marketing struggles. Or new ideas not working out. Or decision fatigue. Or a whole host of any reasons.

No one said owning a business was easy.

But when it’s quiet and no one is around, you remember why you got started in the first place.

At GET Fit, we want to help people enjoy more of their life with family and friends.

We want them to climb mountains, pick grandkids up off the floor, have better results on their blood work, feel more energized and wake up feeling good about themselves.

My next $13 day may come sooner than I think, but the why we keep going will be there to remind me that the work isn’t done. We have more people to help. And so do you. Keep going.

How to Master Your Marketing

In order to to captivate people's attention in what is the most saturated form of information (social media), you've got to be interesting. You've got to break their cycle of monotony.

How?

Tell a story.

But what kind of story?

A real one.

Take Mike Rowe as the epitome of this example. His social media is filled with posts gone viral, week after week and they are often, they are nothing more than a simple selfie with a business owner he crossed paths with, and a real-life story of his interaction with them.

The power of simplicity.

We live in a world that is constantly trying to shorten the time it takes for you to be engaged, with endless emojis, a 10-second elevator pitch, and cheapening of the experience of life.

Change the game. Be genuine, be methodical in your interactions with each and every human you meet. Learn something new about every person you cross paths with. Create value in the human race again. And then take that genuine, real-life experience, and tell the world about it.

You want to grow your audience, your company, your client list? Get uncomfortable. Talk to a stranger. Get to know them. Deepen your authenticity to make the world a better place.

I know this is your MO, Mike Rowe, but today, I'm calling on you as someone who I'd genuinely enjoy to have a coffee with, to learn a tiny fraction of the human much deeper than the guy under the hard hat.

I challenge all of you to do the same this week. Meet someone new, talk about your business. Talk about their business. Don't talk about business at all. Deepen the human connection and add value back into this world.

And if all else fails, strike up a conversation with your Uber driver.☕☕
