Fingers crossed we get good weather Saturday! I’ll be at Oliver Nurseries in Fairfield talking about how to make natural dyes with plants in your garden. It’s at 10am and is free. Sign up and get more details at Oliver’s website. The nursery itself is set up like a botanical garden if you’ve not visited. It’s a treat! See you there!
Join me Saturday, May 30th at 10am for Plants to Dye For. I’ll be discussing wild and cultivated plants you can use to dye fabric. It’s being held on the beautiful terrace at Oliver Nurseries. The talk is free, so bring your friends! I’ll have scarves for sale and an indigo vat for dipping.

Sometimes you want your confetti on ivory, sometimes on black. Just finished sewing these last week and all I wanna do is make more in different sizes.

Finally! Sewn a year back, quilted six months ago, and bound in February, it’s complete! This quilt is about one yard square and is made with 13 shades of red, all repurposed from thrifted apparel. The pattern is an improv sewn log cabin variation. The back is solid red and there’s organic cotton batting inside. Aside from the delays, this quilt took a lot more sewing than some I’ve made. On to the next!
