📊 Bridgeport Police Share First Half of 2026 Crime Update

The Bridgeport Police Department has released its Q1 & Q2 Part I Crime statistics, reporting an 8% overall decrease in Part I crime compared to the first six months of 2025.

According to the report, notable decreases include:
⬇️ Grand Larceny: 37%
⬇️ Sexual Assault: 25%
⬇️ Aggravated Assault: 17%
⬇️ Burglary: 5%
⬇️ Robbery: 2%

The report also notes that Motor Vehicle Theft increased by 1% during the same period.

Bridgeport Police credited the progress to continued collaboration between officers, residents, businesses, and neighborhood organizations, while reaffirming their commitment to proactive policing and community engagement.
