Hello fellow sim racers! Here is a video showcasing my latest project! A custom Thrustmaster T500 Button Plate which uses an Arduino Uno open development board to emulate the original Thrustmaster GT rim. This means the button plate is fully PS3/PS4 compatible and requires no additional USB cord to function! This is semi-complicated to achieve with Thrustmaster wheels as the base communicates with the rim via serial communication (binary code for button pushes via MISO/MOSI ports). In order to bypass the original rims circuitry I used an Arduino sketch that communicates with the base and provide the proper binary code input for button presses as well as for the rim in its natural state with no buttons pressed. Much thanks to Taras from rr-m.org (links in YouTube video description) for providing me with the initial Arduino code for reading and emulating as well as going through the debugging procedures for this project.
