Bridging the Distance: How FaceTime Saved This Grandma's Heart ❤️

When Technology Meets Love, Miracles Happen! 💻❤️

Since about the 5th grade, computers have been a part of my life. I have a love/hate relationship with them 😩.

It never fails that right when I am deep in thought creating a post, or in the middle of trying to put a reel together, something goes wrong 🤦‍♀️. A glitch wipes out everything I've done, or the cursor jumps to the beginning of the page as I'm typing, and I don't realize it until I have two paragraphs in one and nothing makes sense at all 🤯.

Don't get me started on the nonsense of keeping the thing charged or finding what I just saved 📈.

Nowadays, there's an app for everything, and usually, I don't have enough storage when I need to download something that would help with my frustrations 📊.

However, there is one app that I am eternally grateful for: FaceTime 📱. This app has been the prevention of a grandma's broken heart 💔.

With my daughter being across the country with her Air Force husband, this grandma doesn't have the opportunity to see my grandson anytime I want, and this kills me! 😭 I knew when I drove with her across the country, it was going to break my heart twice 💔.

My grandson Miles is now 3 years old 🎉. The first couple years, my daughter and I managed where we only went a couple months before either I would go to California, or she would bring Miles to Florida, or we met in the middle of the country because that's where I'm originally from 🗺️.

That was also during the times of Covid; I had lost my job and had the chance 🦋.

Through FaceTime, I am able to keep a strong bond with my grandson 💕.

My world does stop when he calls, and he likes to call almost every day 📞. We can be on the phone 5 minutes or 5 hours ⏰. It gives me the opportunity to watch him grow up 🎂. We can share dinner together, I can watch him play cars, video games 🎮. He can drive me around in his car in the backyard 🚗. Just yesterday, we played guitar together 🎸. Sometimes we just watch a movie 🍿.

The only thing is that I can't hug and kiss him or rock him to sleep 😔.

Family is everything to me 💗. I am so thankful for technology, even though it causes frustrations 🙏.
