This past week our Raider Air crew had the honor of getting Major Capers into Washington and around the city for his Medal of Honor ceremony. A week like this does not run on luck. It runs on good people who show up and get it done.

Dan, you were my number two and the brain behind the operation. While the rest of us were reacting, you were already three moves ahead. Crayons always sharp and in the right order.

Alex, Ward, and Will, you kept the wheels turning and the rides smooth all week. Every pickup, every drop, every tight window. You made it look easy, which means you did it right.

Alan, as always you ran vehicle logistics from afar like a man pulling strings behind the curtain. We never saw you, but we felt you (in a no-homo way) in every vehicle that showed up exactly where it needed to be.

Jim, thank you for graciously supplying your bird. Getting the Major where he needed to be with that kind of class is something we will not forget.

And to mini me (my son) who took his duties as Director of Hydration very seriously. You kept this team watered and somehow also managed to personally dispose of most of the cupcakes at every official event we attended. A true professional. We never did find the rest of them.

Without you guys the Major’s special week would have been a whole lot harder on the old man and his friends. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

And to the LEOs who made sure we never had to slow down all week, you guys are absolutely awesome. We see you and we appreciate you.
