🍁Fall Travel Bucket List in Virginia. 2-hour drive from Washington DC.

If you’re looking for an easy way to take in some fall colors, the Scenic Chair Lift Ride at Massanutten is definitely worth checking out. You’ll get great views of the mountains, especially with all the autumn leaves changing. 🍂

🗓 When it’s open:
Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 AM - 3 PM.
Closing for the season on October 27 (Closed on September 25).

🎟 Ticket Info:

Adults: $15
Kids (12 & under): $8
Kids under 5: Free (as long as they’re at least 36” tall)

You can buy tickets:

online: https://www.massresort.com/play/scenic-chairlift-rides/

or at the General Store (but make sure to do it by 2:30 PM on the day of your ride).

‼️Things to keep in mind:

- Wear decent shoes. You’ll be walking around a bit when you get to the top.
- No pets allowed on the lift.
- The round trip takes about 60-90 minutes, especially if it’s busy.
- If the weather looks bad, they might close the lift, so earlier in the day is usually better.

It’s a simple way to enjoy the views, and the ride itself is a nice break from the usual hiking. Worth doing if you’re in the area this fall.
