Leeds First-Year Experience

Last Thursday, Leeds First-Year students visited UCHealth Marketing in Denver for a mini career trek—connecting with professionals, learning about the organization, and experiencing a real-world work environment firsthand. On Friday, students volunteered at Community Food Share in Broomfield, sorting potatoes to support families in need while also helping reduce food waste by redirecting excess to local pig farmers. A meaningful couple of days of learning, service, and impact for our Leeds First-Year community.

Kick off spring break the right way and climb Royal Arch, one of the most popular hikes from Chautauqua and a Boulder Bucket List classic, where the challenging climb rewards you with a breathtaking view of Boulder framed by the natural rock arch.

My name is Rylie Ackley (she/her/hers) and I am acting as the Hall Director for Kitt Central and Andrews. I am originally from Centennial, CO but have spent the past eight years in Texas where I received my bachelor’s degree in religion in 2020 and master’s degree in higher education and student affairs in 2022, both from Baylor University. I am passionate about cultivating community and student development in the college experience through learning opportunities and relational development. Outside of work, I enjoy reading a good book, playing board games, snowboarding or hiking, and chasing around my border collie Phoenix!
