I really enjoy the work we do. Most of the time it’s pretty life-giving. But sometimes my busy work schedule doesn’t leave much bandwidth for fun adventures. Yesterday my brain was fried so my husband suggested I go get a pedicure. Brilliant idea. Pause the work, take a break. Best idea yet. And bonus, a friend was able to join me last minute. So fun! Highly recommend a random midday, midweek spontaneous pause. I mean, if you can sneak something fun in, do it! The work will be there tomorrow and if you’re refreshed, you’ll be 10x more productive and focused when you are working. Trust me. You won’t miss a beat. Rather, you’ll be happier and live a little more - AND work more efficiently. Win win.
Usually my breaks include exercise or meeting up with friends and family. What refills your tank?
