Sometimes we don’t even realize we are trying to fit someone in a box. It is so important when working with disabled students that we take a breath, regulate ourselves, and stay mindful when working with neurodivergent students. Sometimes our expectations, the way we teach, or the way we “typically” do things need to be adjusted—but we have to be mindful in order to recognize it.
