Maybe you’ve always seen yourself as a bit of an adventurer, and you have a love for the outdoors and science. Apply to be part of the 🧑🔬 Scientists in Parks Program, which offers paid internships to help you learn a variety of different skills and prepare you for a career in science! The program is a partnership with the National Park Service, Ecological Society of America, Stewards Individual Placements, AmeriCorps, and the Geological Society of America. Applications for the winter season are open through June 16th!
Every year the program places hundreds of college students, recent graduates, and early career professionals across the National Park System to work on natural resource management needs.
The program welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and encourages those to apply who are from underrepresented communities, those with disabilities, and those who are interested in 🧮 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).
Explore internships in 🧫 biology and climate change work at Joshua Tree National Park, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, Congaree National Park, Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park Hawaii, and Big Thicket National Preserve.
🌳 Ecology at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, Denali National Park and Preserve, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve, Fire Island National Seashore, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and Pecos National Historical Park.
🗺️ Geographic Information Systems and Natural Resource Management at Ozark National Scenic Riverways, Yosemite National Park, Dry Tortugas National Park, War in the Pacific National Historical Park, Gulf Islands National Seashore, Cape Cod National Seashore, Grand Teton National Park, Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and Big Cypress National Preserve.

Johnson National Historical Park, Waco Mammoth National Monument, Shenandoah National Park, Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park, Olympic National Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Interested in applying for the GeoCorps™ Summer 2024 program? The GeoCorps America: USDA Forest Service Program Experience and Applying webinar will provide you with the information you need!
This webinar will address what to expect from the GeoCorps experience, share participant insights into the impacts and benefits of GeoCorps and briefly introduce the key resources for applying to the Summer 2024 program.
Past GeoCorps alumni and program staff will share more about the geoscience being done on the national forests, and discuss what it was like to participate in GeoCorps projects hosted in partnership with the USDA Forest Service and its Lands, Minerals and Geology Washington Office.
The webinar will conclude with an audience Q&A with presenters. All webinar registrants receive access to an event recording two days after the live broadcast via email. Please register in advance to secure your spot.
