The TeachEngineering digital library provides FREE teacher-tested, standards-based engineering content for K-12 teachers to use in science and math classrooms. Engineering lessons connect real-world experiences with curricular content already taught in K-12 classrooms. Mapped to educational content standards, TeachEngineering's comprehensive curricula are hands-on, free, and relevant to children's daily lives.

Designing a Mars Thermos 🌑️

Using the engineering design process, students design a β€œMars Thermos” β€” with everyday materials β€” that keeps a small amount of water from changing more than 5Β°F over 10 minutes. Through this process, students explore heat transfer and basic thermodynamics while building scientific inquiry, data collection, and mathematical analysis skills.
