While this demographic shift brings with it many opportunities, the growing number of older adults will also strain limited resources that help seniors in need. That’s where the nonprofit, Cultivate and its network of local volunteers, come in. Cultivate volunteers provide a range of services for seniors and adults with disabilities including shopping for and delivering groceries to the homebound, escorting clients to critical medical appointments, helping with home repairs and yard work, and clearing sidewalks of winter snow and ice. This support allows many seniors the independence to “age in place” in their own homes and neighborhoods.
