“big love ahead” changed my life by going viral a year ago today and here are some lessons I’ve learned in that time:

1. “pray with your feet moving” - this is a saying my friend Genesis always says which means to pray and manifest, yes, but while your feet are stepping in the direction of your dreams. It’s a spiritual practice to show back up for what you love again and again even when you don’t feel like it. Once I had my “moment,” I didn’t let it end simply by sharing daily since.
2. The “12 week year” — this song was my first lesson in that you can do more in 12 weeks than others do in 12 months if you make a goal that’s 90 days away and get after it. It’s hard to know where you’ll be next January or February, but setting goals based on April is more practical for seeing them thru.
3. Social Media is a “Value exchange” - hold a mirror to your audience. People follow your journey when you give value to their lives — whether it’s peace, wonder, joy, etc… People connect with art and music when they can see themselves in your story! Learning how to involve the viewer into a shared experience is something I’m still figuring out how to do but I’m at least aware of its importance!

Some other fun tid bits about “Big Love Ahead:”
This song was a screen recording of a tik tok live. It had a little magic in it with the birds in the background, so I just mastered the audio from that video, and that is what’s on streaming platforms. This little clip found itself in some important places — celebrating births, birthdays, & funerals. In the context of our biggest hopes and deepest grief. And even on the season finale of American Idol. I could have never imagined…

Some additional thoughts on why I think this song traveled around the world is because it believes in you and always will. “Big love ahead” is written to be a friend to that inner voice that wonders whether you have what it takes. And it’s going to keep lifting and encouraging you in days you need it to, reminding you that you do.

So 4 days ago I woke up and saw Spotify had taken down my album due to “artificial streams”.

I know this is false due to having watched the streams, and having talked to many of you.
