We came across this spot during a 30 mile run through the San Juans along the Hard Rock course from Silverton to Lake City. We'd already been moving for a couple of hours, and steeling ourselves for a long grinding day. I have to say, watching these folks waking up in this spectacular spot, and cooking up their breakfast at their leisure, may have left me questioning our decisions as we climbed up and over the pass...
