The purpose of the UW Bothell Debate society is to develop student skills in speech and argumentation while becoming a regionally and nationally competitive debate team. This student centered program will provide opportunities to develop skills in competitive speech, critical discourse, and argumentation. Further, this program will enhance student interdisciplinary research skills, critical thinking skills, and oral and written communication.

Update! Omar Fageeri advances to Octofinals in Junior IPDA at PKD Nationals! The field in Junior was 59 debaters and Omar is in the top 16.
In Novice Division, Kohl Dybdahl and Luke Scott both advance to Octofinals. There were 64 competitors in Novice and two of the top 16 are from UWB! So proud.

UW Bothell Speech and Debate Society is competing at Pi Kappa Delta Nationals this weekend. Congratulations to all of our competitors. Helen Fita, Julie Badgley, Omar Fageeri, Luke Scott, Kohl Dybdahl and Mia Harris. The team is doing well. Luke Scott, at his first ever competition, has cleared to quarter finals in After Dinner Speaking. Omar Fageeri has cleared to quarter finals in Impromptu, Extemporaneous Speaking and in Informative. Woo Hoo! Go Dawgs!
Also, a big thank you to PKD and everyone running the tournament for making this an amazing event despite the challenges of the pandemic and distance learning.
