UWB Environmental Studies

UWB degree programs like Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Earth System Science, Master of Arts in Policy Studies, and Science, Technology and Society. The primary function of the UWB Environmental Studies page is to share announcements of events, opportunities, and news of interest to those who have liked this page. The page is administrated by the following faculty of the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences - Martha Groom, Avery Shinneman and Rob Turner. This administration includes moderating what gets posted on the page. The administrators of the page reserve the right to remove content that is deemed inappropriate. We realize that what is considered appropriate is a personal opinion. The administrators of the page will try to take a liberal approach in assessing external posts and finding that balance between respecting the rights of free speech and upholding ethical standards. But we will not tolerate bullying, personal attacks, racism, spamming, inappropriate language, expressions of hate speech, or incitements to violence in posts. We also adopt the following suggestions of IAS in their policy on social media Pages:

"Hate speech is prohibited by Facebook and should be reported to Facebook through the deletion process. Threats of violence should be hidden (an option for page administrators) and reported to the police and Facebook. It is worth taking a screenshot of threatening comments and copying the url of the commenters’ account."
