The new home sales market continued its retreat in May, falling to multi-year lows as high interest rates and tight affordability conditions limited buyer activity. But while sales slowed, prices did not — the median sales price increased to $424,900, up 2.0% from the prior month and nearly unchanged from one year ago. The average sales price made an even bigger move, rising 7.8% to $540,600 and surpassing May 2025 by 5.0%. We're here every week to walk you through the latest in our local real estate market.
