I chose Tom Stenquist’s work without hesitation, his skill and spirit with reshaping scrap metal into gorgeous sculpture is deeply inspiring. Always from a single sheet, without any joinery, he bends and cuts and hammers his works in an exquisite style that is deeply worked, weather-worn, and soulful. Local potter Lori Moreau has been hard at work throwing, glazing, and firing bowls this winter, always inspired by our Outer Cape colors and textures. See her new work at the gallery by appt or chance or when doors open Friday May 27th!

I searched through my artists’ available works for the one most appropriate for today, Mothers Day. This piece by Rose Umerlik titled ‘Keeping’ somehow carries the spirit of today for me. It has both lightness and depth, connection and promise, complexity and comfort. Also perfectly appropriate as we salute Rose for balancing her painting with motherhood. We’re back! Recharged from a winter full of design work and some much needed travel, we are gearing up for our FOURTH summer season! Our painters have been painting, our sculptors sculpting, our potters throwing and hand building and glazing. And back, finally, is the Outermost Chair!!! We will be introducing 2 new artists and new work from the artists you recognize. Officially opening the doors Friday, May 27th, we are hard at work and always nearby if you want to set up a time to stop in. SO excited for Season ‘22!

Bid on this gorgeous piece from Lorraine DeProspo on the Provincetown Film Society Winter Auction site. Bid for ‘Blue Horizon’ by 11:59pm Sun Feb 13th! This sweet 10x10” oil and cold wax on canvas valued at $775 was generously donated by Lorraine. She recognizes how important it is that all arms of our arts community work together, with extra effort for the film industry that has been so hard hit by this pandemic. Go to the PFS auction site.
