Harvard University announced the newly-elected members of the Board of Overseers—one of the University’s two governing boards—and directors of the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA).

Harvard Elects New Overseers, HAA Directors | Harvard Magazine Leaders for the governing board and alumni association were chosen by an alumni vote.

During the 375th Commencement this morning, Harvard University conferred honorary degrees on five distinguished recipients. Three men and two women were honored:

-Geoffrey Hinton, the “godfather of AI” and winner of a Nobel Prize in Physics;
-Sir Noel Malcolm, a historian, political journalist, and expert in the intricacies of European history;
-Audra McDonald, a singer and actor, and Tony Award-winning Broadway star;
-Peggy Noonan, a Pulitzer prize-winning columnist for The Wall Street Journal; and
-Conan O’Brien, a comedian, writer, and producer.
