Telling The Nightingale by Hans Christian Andersen at his statue in Central Park, NYC. An ongoing Saturday morning series at 11 am. Funded by the Hans Christian Andersen Storytelling Center What an honor to tell this masterwork. Thank you Hans for writing tales that are as relevant today as they were when you conceived them. Artificial Nightingale? Hmmmm I wonder if people will realize the Real Nightingale with its spontaneity and source in nature is the most important? Laura Simms is the Artistic Director of the series and I shared the stage with Geraldine Buckley who told humorous true and folkloric stories to liven up a rainy day.
