I am happy and proud to present a recreation in adai method of one of my wedding sarees. This version is in black which is traditionally worn by mothers-to-be for their seemantham/ valai kaappu ceremony to ward off drishti!.
The saree has a beattu butta ( the butta woven on top of the border) weave of a thogai mayil ( the peacock with an open plumage), the border has mayil, mangai ( paisley) vanki motifs, body is woven with jewel motifs, pallu has parrots, peacocks, elai kamalam kodi and supporting motifs.
This is definitely one for cherishing as I have cherished mine.
All zari used is of 3gm purity.
Falls is attached, blouse piece is separated.

A timeless and much loved combination, generation after generation, of mango yellow -
Mampazham manjal with small arakku Korvai borders.
Borders are woven with a kodi annam, and laddu kamalam in zari with weave in purple thread work to highlights green selvedge.
Body has small kamalam buttas woven on it in zari.
Pallu is woven richly with traditional weave motifs with a thread highlight amidst the zari work.

All zari used is of 3gm purity.
