📣 Save the date! The 12th Annual Sole Train 5K will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Moakley Park in South Boston.

Each fall, the Sole Train 5K brings together Young Soles, Old Soles, families, and supporters to kick off a new Sole Train season. It’s a chance to come together in community and celebrate the young people who will spend the year running, setting goals, and working toward milestones they’ll reach throughout the season.

Whether you plan to run, walk, volunteer, or cheer from the sidelines, we’d love to have you with us!

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were finally liberated more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

For Black communities, Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, culture, joy, and resistance.

For those who are not Black, consider this day an opportunity to learn the full history of slavery in the United States and examine how that history is often softened, distorted, or omitted altogether.

If you have the day off, we encourage you to support Black-owned businesses and non-profits, attend local events, and engage with the stories and lived experiences of Black neighbors and community leaders.
