This , we’re celebrating communities protecting biodiversity through local knowledge, sustainable livelihoods, and conservation-led tourism. 🐝

Tenacious Bee Collective is a movement dedicated to reviving, preserving, and promoting beekeeping as a sustainable source of income in rural Himachal Pradesh, India. Over the past eight years, they have developed a circular economy model centred around small-scale beekeeping in the village of Badsar, while promoting sustainable agroforestry and environmentally conscious living.

Their team includes a strong community of beekeepers, farmers, makers of handmade apothecary products, and local changemakers from rural Himachal Pradesh. Through beekeeping training, environmental education, and market access initiatives, they continue creating meaningful employment opportunities while protecting native Himalayan bee species and local ecosystems.

Visitors can experience the fascinating world of Himalayan bees through honey tastings, storytelling, village walks, and visits to traditional beehives. Supporters placing orders above INR 50,000 also have the opportunity to adopt a beehive, creating a deeper connection between consumers, conservation, and the communities protecting these ecosystems.

This is what community tourism can look like when conservation, education, and local leadership work together to protect both communities and biodiversity.
