First started in 2015, BGF honors global figures with the World Leader for Peace and Security Award annually. Past awardees include visionaries like Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (Japan), UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, such as President Ursula von der Leyen (European Union).
