Edwards Empowerment Fund

Join the Edwards Empowerment Fund at the Maverick Street Mothers Scholarship Award Ceremony! We will be awarding scholarships to local parents who are active in the community and are currently seeking secondary degrees at Boston-area colleges. Recipients will be shining examples of what it means to be involved and engaged community members.

The scholarship is named after the Maverick Street Mothers who were matriarchs of the East Boston community and set the gold standard for organizing, empowering, and motherhood. They organized community protests in the 1960's against proposed Airport expansion. We thank them and honor them through supporting parents who have shown dedication to our community.
