Celebrating Over 37 Years of Serving Immigrants 06/04/2026

We want to take a moment to thank the 40 law firms and corporations who are generously sponsoring our Annual Gala on June 11, 2026. PAIR has raised over $275,000 this year! For a full list of sponsors, check out the PAIR Gala webpage: https://www.pairproject.org/pair-gala

All of us at PAIR are grateful for the profound generosity and support we’ve received, and we’re excited to announce that tickets to this event are sold out. However, it’s not too late to support our important work. The gala is PAIR’s largest community fundraiser, allowing us to serve indigent asylum seekers and detained immigrants with high quality, holistic legal services. We’re fundraising through our Fund the Mission drive, particularly now, to ensure our critical programs can continue to benefit those who need it most.

Every dollar makes a difference. You can Fund PAIR's Mission by donating here:

PAIR is thrilled to highlight two more of our Immigrant Defender Awardees, who we will be honoring at this year’s Annual Gala on June 11, 2026:

Mahsa Khanbabai, Founder of Khanbabai Immigration Law – who has been a PAIR pro bono attorney since 2000. She has consistently demonstrated compassion, courage, and a powerful sense of justice – whether by standing alongside individuals facing immense challenges, litigating in federal court to protect her client’s rights, amplifying marginalized voices, or pushing for systems that are more equitable and humane.

Annelise Araujo, Founder of Annelise Araujo Law LLC – who as a past AILA NE Chapter Chair is a dedicated champion of PAIR, particularly through her strong leadership in upholding the rule of law and fierce federal court litigation. By inspiring AILA members to volunteer with PAIR, and through her outstanding advocacy efforts, she has played a pivotal role in advancing immigration-focused pro bono service.

We can’t wait to honor Mahsa and Annelise and all of our awardees!

PAIR is thrilled to highlight two more of our Immigrant Defender Awardees, who we will be honoring at this year’s Annual Gala on June 11, 2026:

Robin Nice, Principal and Owner of McHaffey & Nice, LLC – who has been a dedicated and tireless PAIR pro bono attorney since 2016. Through her steadfast advocacy, leadership, and courage to speak out, Robin has made a meaningful impact on the lives of many immigrants and their families.

Mark Fleming, Partner at WilmerHale’s Boston office – who has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to high-impact immigration advocacy and public interest litigation. His work has included influential Supreme Court and federal appellate cases that have reshaped immigration law and expanded protections for individuals facing removal and related challenges.

We can’t wait to honor Robin and Mark and to share more about our other awardees in the coming weeks!

PAIR is thrilled to highlight two of our Immigrant Defender Awardees, who we will be honoring at this year’s Annual Gala on June 11, 2026:

SangYeob Kim, Director of the Immigrant Rights Project at ACLU of New Hampshire – whose leadership in taking first-chair roles and enabling other attorneys (especially those in legal services and pro bono spaces) to secure crucial relief for their clients exemplifies his commitment to advancing justice and fairness in our immigration system, including in his recent First Circuit win in Lopez Martinez v Blanche.

Sarah Sherman-Stokes, Clinical Associate Professor of Law & Associate Director of the Immigrants' Rights and Human Trafficking Program at Boston University School of Law - who as a long-time PAIR advocate has consistently stood alongside immigrant communities, elevating their voices, calling out injustices within our immigration system, and helping advance both individual protections for clients and broader systemic change.

We can’t wait to honor SangYeob and Sarah and to share more about our other awardees in the coming weeks!
