When volunteering at Boston Partners in Education you are given an opportunity to create and join a community in your match. This is exactly what Ms. Garcia and her volunteers have accomplished.

Through the years Ms. Garcia has been able to use her volunteers to get to know the volunteers themselves and the students better to create amazing spaces for her students.

Consistency, attention, and acceptance has played a part in creating the success and joy within this community.

Help us grow our mentoring community this summer!

We are especially seeking volunteers who:
- Are multilingual (highest need for Spanish, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Portuguese, Somali, Cape Verdean Creole, and Arabic speakers)
- Have experience working with English Language Learners (ELLs)
- Have experience working with migrant populations
- Live in or are willing to travel to Roxbury, Mattapan, Hyde Park, or East Boston
- Have experience working with Boston Public Schools and/or community partners
- Have participated in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) trainings or initiatives

Our summer contest will run from June 29 - August 31, 2026 with winners selected September 1, 2026!
