Just took both my albums off of Spotify. They’re a s**t company that pays artists fractions of pennies and won’t pay at all unless you hit a specific threshold. That’s right, no direct stream to artist payments… And frankly, I don’t want to support a company that runs ICE ads and propaganda. YES, I know other companies do this too but since I’ve always hated Spotify, this seemed like the right time! You can listen to music on any platform you like, but I’m finally done with Spotify. And if you think paying a subscription fee that’s less than the price we used to pay for a single album is supporting artists and songwriters, you’re living in a dream world… streaming has ruined recorded music earnings for creators and now with AI it’s only going to get worse. Go see music live if you want to support musicians making a living or purchase direct from artist’s websites or Bandcamp!!

Happy Wednesday! I'm excited to share my new holiday single, "That's What Christmas Is" with everyone. The song was co-written and produced with my dear friend the amazingly talented guitarist and producer Steve Fekete (Steve Fekete Music) and is now available on all streaming platforms and YouTube Music. BUT, the artist name is Perry Fekete so if you download and share (please), you won't find it under my artist name except on YouTube. A bit of backstory... the song was originally written as part of a children's picture book story (yet to be published) I wrote for a Berklee faculty promotion project. “Huge numbers of our population believe in a complete alternate reality. Alternate facts as it were. But just as intensely as I believe they are deluded, they think I am the one who is deluded. Maybe I am. So how can I be confident in my perception? It can be quite difficult. But I have found that in times of confusion, particularly when emotions are running high and creating tunnel vision, the presence of N***s can be an extremely helpful indicator. If I am attending a local demonstration or event and I see N***s…neo-N***s, miscellaneous-N***s or the latest-whatever-uber-mythology-N***s, I figure out which side they are on. And if they are on my side of the demonstration? I am on the wrong side. It is tough to argue moral equivalence when I am standing next to a N**i. Look to my right. Is there a guy wearing a 6MWE (6 million wasn’t enough) t-shirt? I am on the wrong side. Look to my left. If that guy is wearing a Camp Auschwitz t-shirt? Wrong side. Speakers referring to things Hi**er said? Wrong side. Team-spirit face paint and hat with horns? This is an unclear indicator that could mean anything but safest to keep my distance from that guy even at a football game. But I can always, always, always, rely on the presence of N***s as a guiding light through a fog of disinformation.”
