Tree pruning work has continued throughout the Emerald Necklace over the past month. Crews of arborists have focused on areas along the Arborway, Jamaicaway, and Jamaica Pond! Pruning is an essential component of tree care and public safety—addressing diseased or damaged limbs that could fall and injure the tree or passers-by. The Conservancy’s "Olmsted Tree Society" provides funding for annual pruning and additional tree care initiatives throughout the Emerald Necklace. Thank you to all our supporters!

With the hot weather and lack of rain during the summer months our Watering Truck and Tree Care Associates need to make sure that dozens of young and vulnerable trees across the Emerald Necklace parks get the water they need to survive the summer heat. On average, two trips are made every 2-3 days a week or as needed!
