Hi my dear alumni - I have something special to share. This month marks twenty years since I pressed “publish” on my very first blog post. Twenty years!

Back then, in 2006, there was no Instagram, no “creator economy,” no roadmap for turning what you loved into a real career. We didn’t have funnels or strategies - we had curiosity. We followed a feeling.

For me, that feeling was simple: I wanted to share beauty. I wanted to think out loud, and wanted to make something that felt like mine. I wanted to be recognized by magazines as a real writer, so I could get writing assignments... I wanted to be taken seriously as a journalist. Starting my blog, to me, felt like the way "in". I could prove myself, I thought.

And that one small decision to start blogging on decor8 changed my entire life - leading to being able to relocate to Europe, write multiple books that were published in twenty languages, speaking on international stages, book tours and events, creative collaborations, consulting, teaching, and this amazing community that has grown up alongside me. And it's wonderful.

There have been deeply sad and hard times too. Not everything has been smooth sailing.

But here’s the thing I don’t often say out loud: every time the online world evolved - every time something shifted - I had to stop and ask myself the harder question:

What am I actually building now to stay relevant? How can I keep going?

Many of you know what I'm talking about... I can feel it.

You have ideas. Maybe you’re already writing. Maybe you’ve got something online that’s ready to evolve. Or a business in the real world that’s ready for its digital space. You feel the edge of something unfinished, waiting for you to reshape it. Or you have have been at it a long time online, and know that you need to refresh things, push reset on your overall brand or goals.

That’s exactly why I created a program that I just opened for enrollment called Creative Reset Studio.

It’s not about hustle. It’s not a launch strategy or another social media game plan. It’s a six-week, guided space to help you ask the right questions: What do I want to build online now? What feels aligned with my life today?

In celebration of my twenty years online, I wanted to create something that gathers everything I’ve learned about longevity, voice, structure, and sustainability = and share it with you in a thoughtful, grounded way.
