NEW RECIPE

Easy Chocolate-Pomegranate Freezer Fudge

When I say this is easy, I mean it. Whisk some stuff together, pour it in a pan, chill for an hour — bam.

You know me, I love to talk cycles. This week's blog post is gives you insight into what's *actually* going on inside your body re: menstrual cycle.⠀
⠀
Body literacy is so important, for connecting to your self and your intuition and also for being able to advocate for your own health.⠀
⠀
You'll learn about the four phases and what's going on in each phase. Because they don't teach this stuff in school. The internet is your educational oyster, my friend. Come get the pearl: http://www.goodwitchkitchen.net/what-is-actually-happening-during-your-period/

When I feel disconnected, I imagine that all the pieces of me are detached from each other, but there’s still a single thread running through each of them.⠀
⠀
To pull that thread tight and bring all the pieces back together, try this sensory practice at your next few meals.⠀
⠀
Turn off the TV and put your phone in the other room. Give yourself some time and space to do this so you’re not rushing through before you have to run out the door. Sit down with your meal and use all of your senses. Go through them one by one.⠀
⠀
✨ Sight: What does the food look like? Do you enjoy its presentation?⠀
✨ Smell: What does your meal smell like? Can you pick out any particular aromas?⠀
✨ Taste: What does it taste like? Can you articulate the different flavors?⠀
✨ Hearing: Is it still sizzling? Does it make a loud crunch when you bite into it?⠀
✨ Touch: What is the temperature like? How does the food feel on your tongue?⠀
⠀
You could add a sixth sense in there, too. One of awareness of your body in space. So, how does the food feel inside your body? How does it make you feel?⠀

Do you ever feel a little disconnected from your body? Like you don’t actually know what’s going on inside of you?⠀
⠀
There’s a lot of talk in wellness about being ~in tune~ with yourself, but it’s really a nebulous concept and I’m pretty sure you’re like, “ok, but what does that mean ACTUALLY?”⠀
⠀
I see it as honing your intuition, and reconnecting your internal lines of communication that may have been busted from our culture of eternal connectivity, diet culture, and yes, the patriarchy!⠀
⠀
So, being able to listen to yourself basically.⠀
⠀
I wrote a blog this week about mind-body disconnection, how it happens, and what you can do to reconnect and superpower your intuition. http://www.goodwitchkitchen.net/how-we-lose-connection-to-our-bodies/
