FableVision is heading to NYC July 21-22 for this year’s Games for Change Festival!

FableVision’s President and Co-Founder Gary Goldberger moderates the panel, “Built Together: How Co-Design in Games is Shaping a New Era of Indigenous Storytelling” on July 21 from 3:00pm-3:45pm in Classroom 2. Panelists, including FableVision Producer Jonah Gaynor, CyArk’s John Ristevski, and iThrive Games’ Jane Lee, will discuss the best practices and lessons learned in working directly with Indigenous groups to craft games with and for these communities. This panel will also include a video from Chugachmiut’s Phyllis Wimberley, who collaborated with FableVision to create Nunaka: My Village, highlighting insights and perspectives from the Sugpiaq community.

FableVision’s Director of G.L.A.M. Innovation Kellian Adams Pletcher moderates the panel, “Transforming Museums Through Playful Learning” on July 22 from 3:00pm-3:45pm in Breakout 4. Panelists include The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York’s Brett Renfer, MoMA The Museum of Modern Art’s Cari Frisch and Elizabeth Margulies, and Seattle Art Museum’s Emily Gardner and Ramzy Lakos. Panelists will discuss the games they have developed at their museums across a wide range of scale, play patterns, content areas, and budgets, and will highlight the specific challenges and processes behind building these games.

In addition to moderating this panel, Kellian’s book, “Building Museum Games” will be featured in the book corner at the festival!

That question inspired The Tooth Fairy’s Secret Workshop, a new animated short film from Wiggly Tooth Workshop, created in collaboration with FableVision and New York Times bestselling author and illustrator Peter H. Reynolds.

In this story, every lost tooth holds something special. The Tooth Fairy collects teeth because they contain qualities like creativity, kindness, courage, curiosity, and wonder. Her secret work is using those qualities to help make the world a little brighter.
