Boston will release a new infrastructure proposal this week in partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers. The project would invest $10 billion in flood infrastructure to protect roughly 40 percent of the city and more than a quarter-million residents who are currently at risk of flooding.

The draft plan would serve as a roadmap for how New England's largest city can prepare for the more than four feet of sea-level rise that the Army Corps projects Boston will experience by 2090 as the climate continues to warm.

Increased access to sports betting has led to a new level of intensity, and teenage boys are especially vulnerable. A third of 11- to 17-year-old boys gambled in the last year, according to a recent survey. “We educate kids about drugs, unprotected s*x, drinking and driving, but very few do it around problem gambling,” said Jeff Derevensky, director of the International Centre for Youth Gambling Problems and High-risk Behaviours at McGill University, who was on the development and evaluation team for the Massachusetts sports betting curriculum.

The controversial proposal to repeal recreational ma*****na legalization is facing yet another legal challenge. Opponents say signatures were gathered through “fraudulent means.”

The campaign collected 12,551 signatures in support of the ballot measure, just clearing the 12,429-signature requirement with little room for error should regulators find that the claims carry weight.
