Another piece with the canvas removed and replaced for maximum impact/ where this artwork is placed becomes a piece of the art itself while they hang together. It's totally different from different viewpoints- if there's light behind, you catch a glimpse of the lace wrapped around the back.
I'm not the best at remembering to name my artwork, but writing this out now, I think I'll call this one Seduction.

If you've known me a while, you know I have a "problem" with antique lace. Partially that I don't presently have more, partially that I've got a little bit too much for the space I have to keep it. There's at least 13 different types of lace in this piece alone, that's just the start.
Tangent:
Someday I would love to open a New England Lace Museum where people can learn about the different types, how's it's made, the cultural significance, the complexity behind its creation. If you know how to make this happen, let me know. I'm ready.
Back to the main thought: I wanted to place a ton of different white laces together and use those as my canvas. I started by trying to dot the smaller flowers into color, but It quickly escalated to the emotions of the color escaping my brush, all pure instinct. I'd like to do more of these.

This piece is called Peekaboo, and despite being just fabric and trimmings, it feels utterly naughty to fully view. In order to see all layers of the painting, you need to life the "skirt" of sheer silk to see what lays beneath.
During the Gallery show last year, I saw people peeking at this one and blushing when they did, like the art was flirting with them or they're in on a dirty secret.
