Showa Boston students volunteered at the Carroll Center for the Blind’s Walk for Independence. During the event, students helped with event logistics and runner support, including cheering on participants as they completed the course. Students even got to pose for photos with Tessie the Green Monster, one of the mascots of the Boston Red Sox.

Students in our short-term programs enjoyed a night of community interaction and karuta! The Boston Nakamaro Karuta Club hosted an event on our campus, which included a karuta demonstration and basic lessons. Students were able to talk with local people, play karuta, and teach about Japanese culture.
