The children at Little Folks, a nonprofit daycare in East Boston, are enjoying opportunities for exploration, physical activity, and social interaction on their new playground!

For 45 years, Little Folks has nurtured children from infancy through age 13 as the parent program to both the Shining Star and Swift Waters After-School Programs. Arrowstreet is proud to honor their legacy and promote the growth of future Boston leaders!

Little Folks is an inclusive space where they not only embrace, but celebrate cultural, ethnic, and religious holidays to help children explore the diverse world around them. Through their curriculum and play, they nurture curiosity, kindness, and acceptance in every child.

Once a waterfront junkyard, Gibson Point was transformed into a 6-story, 291-unit multifamily development that embodies health and wellness. 

Between working out in the fitness center or yoga room, receiving treatment at the spa, or collecting yourself in a private reflection room, residents enjoy many opportunities to recharge. The theme of wellness extends from the building to individual units with a minimalistic, biophilic design. Live plants and natural materials provide a quiet headspace and separation from the stresses of everyday life. 

Environmental strategies like rain gardens, a vegetated shoreline, and a slanted green roof support stormwater management. A new public boardwalk invites both residents and the broader community to slow down, enjoy serene views, and connect with the neighborhood. Located beside Gibson Park, everyone can choose their path to wellness, whether it’s through a contemplative walk along the water or a calming moment of stillness.

Another year, another win to add to our awards collection! We are excited to share that our project, Athletics in Boston has won the 2024 IIDA NE Design Award for the “Hospitality – Play” category. As Boston’s leading obstacle training facility, this ninja warrior gym was a joy to design. The layout encourages fluid movement and agility training in a dynamic setting, while the inclusive design welcomes individuals of all ages and fitness levels—from beginners to elite athletes—helping them feel supported as they strive to reach their full potential.
