Is there a ticking noise coming from the engine when it's running? It could be a problem with the rocker arm, the pistons or piston rings, the main bearing, or the fuel line assembly.

If corrosion should build up on the battery terminals, this could lead to a loss of power.

Buying a used car? No matter if it's from a dealer or it's a private transaction, always have it inspected by professional mechanics before handing over your money. Unless the seller is willing to give you a warranty (highly doubtful), it's considered an "as is" purchase.
