Diving Deep in Questions and Controversies on the QT Interval

First described as clinically important in the context of risk for lethal arrhythmia by Jervell and Lange-Nielsen, the QT interval has been a subject of interest to healthcare providers. The QT interval represents ventricular depolarization through to repolarization and is measured from the beginning of the Q wave to the end of the T wave. Prolongation can be a result of genetic channelopathies, drugs, ischemia or electrolyte imbalance. A QTc of > 500 is considered a risk for Torsades. But here are a few caveats.
