The Lantern Parade, my favorite event every year! The Lantern Parade is a beautiful autumnal evening ceremony involving home-made lanterns and a communal procession around the pond. It's a ceremony that celebrates nature, the community, and changing of the seasons. Come out and enjoy!

Some history here:

" The ritual of the Jamaica Pond Lantern Parade began in 1984 when people gathered to make a journey with their candle-lit lanterns around Jamaica Pond. The parade proceeds around the pond, bringing a trail of bouncing lights into the darkness that can be seen from all directions."

Jamaica Pond Lantern Parade — Spontaneous Celebrations The Jamaica Pond Lantern Parades will be Oct 23 and 24 at dusk. Lantern making workshop schedule will be held on Oct 14. Buy lanterns at Ula Cafe, Boing! Toy Shop, and City Feed.
