Meet Salome Yichi Zhang’s latest invention — the Porcelain sequencer!
Rooted in heritage and reimagined through technology, this instrument is built from porcelain pieces sourced from Salome’s family in Hunan.
Using multiple sensors, the system measures the spatial relationship between each porcelain object and a defined lowest point. These measurements are translated into musical data and processed through a custom patch in Max made by Salome.
