Hi friends,
I'm working on my first album to be released at the end of this year. It expresses beautiful melodies on all kinds of traditional instruments interplaying with harmony set amidst contemporary grooves and rhythms from hip hop. Melodically I'm blending the musics of Hindustani, Carnatic, Turkish, and Arabic music along with whatever other influences I have inside of me.
I'm featuring a lot of talented musicians from all over to play very cool instruments and am truly humbled that they have expressed interest in playing on this.
There will be 8 tracks, the first which I have released as a single, Confluence https://open.spotify.com/track/5nMxqRYK0rVsihwMrb87FZ?si=cacb5e9f6b734948

Releasing my debut single - "Requiem for a Rapper" a hybrid piece incorporating chamber music, soul, and hip hop that details how Rappers are able to achieve such beautiful art as musicians despite coming from difficult upbringings. The song features soprano sax, duduk, and rap vocals performed myself as well as cello, violin, and drums performed by some fantastic session musicians I've had the pleasure to work with. Thanks to former Abbey Roads Engineer Mick Morrison, my mentor 2x Grammy winner Herschel Garfein and many more for their support through the process. The cover art references a lyric from the piece, "Not a drop in the Ocean, the Ocean in a drop" a line from the poems of Rumi.
