Project Turnaround is devoted to helping Bostons youth and formerly incarcerated individuals access the services and holistic care necessary to achieve their potential. Pereira (CEO), the center functions to bring together formerly incarcerated individuals' re-entry and social services in a holistic "one-stop" model. Pereira's lived experience as well as her years serving as a case manager and re-
entry advocate, Project Turnaround focuses on providing pathways for successful re-entry. After incarceration, people are often open and ready to get their life on a healthy path when they return home. However, they are often faced with a maze of agencies and programs that are hard to navigate, even with support. Project Turnaround acts as a clearinghouse for those resources and a central hub for the people most in need. Every participant is paired with a case manager and mentor that help him/her/them navigate systems from getting into supportive housing to job training to trauma interventions. As a program with its origins in the very community it serves in Boston, Project Turnaround uses a community feedback loop to ensure that all programs and resources are vetted, provide participants growth and opportunity, and create pathways for successful re-entry. The provided continuum of care ensures that no participants are left behind: street outreach, violence interruption, case management, counseling, education, housing, and support services. Project Turnaround functions as a center where community change comes from a community connection. Please note: Mon-Fri business hours are from 9AM-5PM, but depending on services and needs we are available.
