Exciting News: MassHousing announced last week that Massachusetts residents are eligible for up to $25,000 in interest-free down payment and homebuyer assistance to help with the purchase of their first home. This program can help cover your down payment, closing costs, prepaid mortgage insurance, or to reduce your interest rate.

The program is available to first-time homebuyers who lock in a MassHousing mortgage between April 27 and July 31, 2026, and earn up to 135 percent of the area median income.
