Recruiting for Leadership Positions!
Good morning!
We hope the semester has been going well! In case anyone is new, this is Caring Crafts, a student-led organization that provides craft sessions to local long-term care center residents, including those with Alzheimer’s disease, in Massachusetts. We are currently working with numerous centers and craft sessions occur monthly. Due to the pandemic, we have been doing things virtually and have been shipping craft materials (along with the video and written craft instructions).
Check out the photos from our January craft of DIY tote bags!: https://neucaringcrafts.wordpress.com/photos/. The centers who received this craft shared their appreciation for this fun activity.
We also have an exciting announcement!
We are planning on expanding our organization with a more structured leadership, so we want to recruit passionate students to take on e-board positions and be more involved in community engagement. Current students who have been leading this club will all be graduating in Spring 2021 so new e-board members will have a transition period (March-April) to learn things from the current e-board. New e-board members will be actively leading the club starting May 2021. All activities (club meetings, volunteering) will be virtual, so there’s no need to be physically in the Boston area.
We are looking to fill in the following 5-6 positions:
1 Webmaster: update FB, Instagram, Website (1)
2 Treasurer: coordination of budgeting and reimbursement (1)
3 External Liaison: coordinates emails with long-term care centers (1)
4 Internal Liaison: coordinates emails with volunteers (1)
5 Craft coordinators (2)
*No prior e-board experience or affiliation with our club is required. We are looking for passionate students who are willing to support the local community.
It would be a great opportunity to continue this outreach to a population that has been hit hard by the pandemic. We appreciate all the work you’ve helped us with so far and would love if this could continue in the future!
For those who are interested in e-board positions, please pick three positions you would be interested in the order of preference in the survey: https://forms.gle/9Erv1pBRjJEaQV1h9 by Feb 24th (Wednesday) 3pm and we’ll be in touch! Please feel free to ask any further questions about the specific positions/responsibilities.
Thank you,
Caring Crafts
