I have seen so many realtors/brokers out there who have a huge list of people they think is just a dead list but as soon as we start the follow up process they are simply surprised!

The so "Dead Leads" are revived and they are closing at least 3-5 of those deals, so don't underestimate the importance of following up for a long and consistent period of time. You will be surprised!

Building new connections and relationships is essential for a real estate agents. New relationships with prospects won't only get you to one transaction today, it will get you many referrals down the road!

Here are 6 tips for building relationships:

1. Always over communicate and over deliver: Whether they are already your client or in the beginning stages you always want to be in front of them and keep in touch!

2. Become a trusted advisor and resource: It ties back to the communication tip but advising, informing, providing value, and overall being a trusted resource will make a huge difference!

3. Be honest, always: It doesn't matter if they will like hearing it or not, tough love is needed sometimes! 😉

4. Your clients are more than just your clients: They are family, they are friends. Do your best for them and you will always be their number 1 realtor!

5. Always think long term: Long term thinking will differentiate you from other realtors, building a relationship won't happen overnight. Show that you are genuine!

6. Reward your loyal clients: Weather it be a small gift or a birthday present they will always have you in mind!

Reconnecting with past clients!

As part of your business plan you should be setting goals to reconnect with past clients. As a realtor it's very important to be nurturing your relationships with past clients plus giving value.

Here are some tips to help you:

1. Update clients on market changes: Updating past clients on market changes is a great way to keep in touch, and give value. Informing clients doesn't mean you are trying to sell them something, you are simply providing value!

2. Refer a contractor: Past clients may be thinking about making changes to their new home. Referring a contractor will help them and show that you actually care!

3. Sending birthday cards: Keeping a file on your clients' birthday will really differentiate you from other realtors out there. Sending them a birthday card will make them very happy that you remembered and will also put you in the back of their minds!

4. Publish a newsletter: When you publish a newsletter it puts you in front of you past, new, and future clients. Provide excellent content regularly and your clients will be excited to open your newsletter!

Consistently stay top of mind and the referral will come!
