Jon Batiste

Thelonious Monk (1917–1982) was an American jazz pianist and composer. As a foundational architect of bebop, his innovative style combined percussive, angular melodies with dissonant harmonies and striking uses of silence. He authored timeless jazz standards including "'Round Midnight," "Blue Monk," and more. Alongside the Black Mozart album, I have two albums inspired by Thelonious Monk coming out on August 14.
