One time a client told me after I delivered photos of her daughter, “I think that was the confidence boost she needed. She keeps saying, ‘Mom, I look so pretty!’” I really love photography for the narrative of it - telling a story. It’s the same reason I love illustration. It communicates something. But that comment, and the girl in these photos telling me she felt really confident after seeing the final product - that makes me so happy. This thing I do for fun and for work actually has an effect on self-perception - on how you remember your wedding or engagement, but also on how you remember yourself. I like that.
