Parrots N Stuff Real Talk : Birds are MESSY! Last week I was reflecting on how many times I hear people ask what bird they can get that is easy and not messy....The answer: there isn't one, not even the tiny finches and canaries (I swear sometimes these are some of the messiest). Even us, as bird owners of 30 plus years are reminded just how messy they are. Between food being thrown and wasted, p**p everywhere, feathers floating about, and the shrapnel of decimated toys, as a bird owner things will never be clean for longer than.....maybe an hour!

I will say, these last few years have been exceptionally difficult for us to keep up with our own cleaning while also running the store. Thank you to and Kennedi for coming last week and making it possible to completely clean and presure wash each cage! We could not have done it without you!

You wouldn't know it this week so we had to post the before and after so we remember how beautiful it looks after a fresh clean!

Pilot Workshop Announcment

Bird ownership is often much deeper than food bowls, cages, and training tips.

Many bird owners experience:
• fear of judgment
• burnout
• grief
• pressure from social media
• fear of asking questions
• feeling like they are never “good enough”

Those experiences can impact both the owner and the bird.

This workshop is designed to create healthier, more supportive conversations within the bird community through reflection, discussion, resources, education, and connection.
• Small Zoom workshop setting
• Approximately 1 hour
• Pilot pricing is $15 for the first 5 to 10 participants
• Future workshop pricing will be $35
• Participants will complete a reflection activity prior to the workshop
There are no stupid questions here. Just honest conversations, support, learning, and community.

Do we have any travel bugs, or anyone who kows someone who is going to or near Hayden Idaho and back? Although we are not a rescue, and do not take birds in we have a Quaker who needs picked up and brought to us if possible. Due to Quakers being an "invasive species" What the Flock is unable to take this guy in. If someone is able to volunteer in helping get this little guy to us it would be greatly appreciated!
